Monika Aichele
I take my mind out for a walk everyday.
When Monika Aichele isn’t teaching at the University of Mainz or designing gigantic, inflatable monkey sculptures, she devotes her time to creating whimsical illustrations with a life of their own. The award-winning illustrator and designer studied at the Stuttgart Academy of Fine Arts and has lived in New York, Barcelona and Berlin, before moving to Munich, where she now calls home. Alongside books, Monika’s illustrations have appeared in magazines and newspapers such as the New York Times and the Süddeutsche Zeitung.
