I try to find the meeting point of function and meaning and infuse it with colour.
Kika Illu's art overflows with bright, feminine power. Highlighting beautiful bodies in blazing strokes of colour, her portraits are a fever dream, mingling the female form with natural motifs and leaving us all feeling that bit more empowered. The polish artist is inspired by pop culture and infuses her work with references to film, music and fashion – as well as drawing from the traditions of the Artists of the Young Poland movement, Art Deco, and Fauvism to inform her art.
